Houston Texans (Top)

2 1(33) DeMeco Ryans OLB ALABAMA

4 1(98) Owen Daniels TE WISCONSIN
6 1(170) Wali Lundy RB VIRGINIA
7 43(251) David Anderson WR COLORADO STATE

Overall Draft Grade:

A

The Texans made the right move by selecting Williams with the first pick. He will finally give the Texans defense a player that other teams will fear. Ryans was good value as most had him projected to go in the first round. Both Spencer and Winston address the team biggest need, OL. They will develop in 06 and become starters in 07, if not sooner.
2006 Fantasy Impact: Minimal: If both Spencer and Winston catch on quick, they could provide David Carr with the added protection he has lacked. We expect some growing pains and rookie mistakes that may make it another rough season for Carr.

6 30(199) Charlie Johnson OT OKLAHOMA STATE
6 38(207) Antoine Bethea S HOWARD
7 30(238) TJ Rushing RS STANFORD

Overall Draft Grade:

C

Addai is a good back, but he's no Edgerrin James. Jennings could be a decent 3rd corner but they secondary isn't the Colts major need. Other than Keiaho, we were surprised to see no other player for the front seven drafted.
2006 Fantasy Impact: Significant: Addai will compete with Domanique Rhodes for the starting RB job, but expect Rhodes to come out on top. Addai will still receive some significant playing time as the season goes on. Draft him as a backup RB in the mid to late rounds of your draft, the Colts offense has too much potential.

7 5(213) James Wyche DE SYRACUSE
7 28(236) Dee Webb CB FLORIDA

Overall Draft Grade:

B

Marcedes Lewis was a solid pick for the Jags, since they have had no threat at the position for a few years. Drew will be a solid backup and change of pace back who could also contribute in the return game. Webb was great value in the 7th round.
2006 Fantasy Impact: Significant: Lewis should be able to make an impact as the season goes on. His combination of size, speed and hand will make him a factor in the passing game. Drew will only make a contribution if injuries strike.

7 38(246) Quinton Ganther RB UTAH

Overall Draft Grade:

B

Young could either be a great pick or a huge bust, only time will tell, but it was a gutsy pick, we'll give the Titans that. We think Leinart made more sense. White was good value in the second round and will push Chris Brown and Travis Henry. Mahelona was a good pick for depth along their defensive front.
2006 Fantasy Impact: Moderate: Depending on what the Titans do with Steve McNair, Young could see some playing time in 06. We expect Volek to get most of the playing time though. White could see some significant scoring opportunities in goal line situations. Keep an eye on him as your draft moves along.
